On Monday, Jan. 16, 2012, I had the opportunity to interview Sarah Jo Wood, Founder of Evolving Advisors, Inc. She shared helpful insights and tips explaining what attributed to her unbelievable success! She has been awarded internationally and cited on TV for her achievements. I am thankful for her time and all the Value she shared during this interview.
Question #1: Tell me a little bit about your background and what led you to where you are now
Sarah’s response: I’m a transplanted American living in Toronto, Canada for the last 30 years. After graduating from a University, I tried the Corporate route for about 3 Fortune 500 companies, and I could see the glass ceiling all too well – not to mention feeling claustrophobic. So, I went out on my own. My 1st venture had me digging in dirt as a plant wholesaler. My grandmother had taught me all about plants. She was a rare individual in that she studied the hybridization of rare orchids and she trekked through Africa and China studying plants, so I learned all about plants that way. Read more....

I can say without hesitation, that over the past 3 years which I’ve been using social media, I have easily met several thousands of coaches. Some have really wowed me with their techniques, skills, and knowledge; others with their benefits of service, structure, process, and awareness, and others with their ability to generate, befriend and build lasting personal and business relationships. And yes, there have been some that didn’t impress me at all. Hence, there really isn’t any defining factor between having the ability to create a booming coaching practice and being a wonderful coach. Read more....

Did you grow up hearing “go to school, get a good job, work hard and live off your retirement”? Are you currently one of the millions of unemployed workers in the US? Have you sent out hundreds of resumes in hopes that an employer will hire you? When you think about following the old idea of go to school, get a good job and live off your retirement, it doesn’t carry the same weight that it used to. Were you raised hearing that “It’s better to give than to receive”? I’ve always found this saying confusing. One, because it is extremely fun to receive. Second, because when you give you always receive something in return. And it’s usually far greater than what you gave in the first place. That’s why highly successful people make it a point to give back to the world. Read more....

With so many networking groups, events, and functions to attend, it can become overwhelming when it’s time to decide when or how often one should network. How do you define networking? How often should you be networking? Networking can be very exciting and like many other undertakings, is an art and should be a natural part of your interaction and connecting with others. “I believe the most important part of networking is deepening the relationship you have with those in your network.” Jack Canfield So when and how often should you network?

Have you found yourself wanting more money and wanting to be in better health but not getting more of either? Does this sound like you, “I’ve been wanting this for so long, why hasn’t it happened yet?” Most people aren’t aware that every subject has two subjects, what is wanted and the lack of it. For example, many people talk about money, but they are focused on the lack of or not having enough money. So you find yourself feeling and habitually thinking about the lack of and not having enough money and those thoughts push money away. Read more....
