As I am waiting for my nails to dry at the local nail salon, I peruse the magazines to see the latest covers and headlines, the August (2011) issue of The Oprah Magazine, main story is, “Let Your Intuition be your Guide”, I am instantly pulled in and want to devour every word! My nails are wet so I must wait, but it is all I can think about as I run into my local bookstore to get my hands on a copy. I have been an intuitive all of my life, yet to see it on the cover of Oprah’s magazine that millions read religiously is like winning the lottery! I remember when Subaru launched their “Love” campaign several years ago. It highlighted the love that drivers feel for their cars, and a Washington Times article was quick to berate them for mentioning love as a reason for buying a car. According to the author of the article, love is an irrational emotion that has no place in the realm of purchasing decisions or anywhere in business. It’s a common belief that the emotion of love should be barred from business, yet this is highly ironic because love is the one ingredient that can help businesses generate the highest prosperity. I love Amazon’s wish list concept: I’m always placing books on my wish list that look good but that I’m just not ready to commit to buying yet. It’s usually because I’m not sure if the book is exactly what I’m looking for. If I took a few extra minutes to decide what I want in a book my wish list would be empty and my bookshelf would be full (well, fuller). Read more....

You know the type – Their gifts to the world are unsolicited and unwanted. They annoy us so much that you can’t even hear or see what they have to offer. We never begin to discover how their product or service just might be what the business doctor ordered.
I understand. It can be quite tempting to send a mass email to everyone in your database or to those who connect with you through social media. All it takes is copy, paste and send. The problem is, many of these types of messages are ignored. There wasn’t an established relationship – not even a simple “hello” – and nobody wants just another solicitation. Read more....
