How to use Online Marketing to Create an International Business

Are you interested in growing your business internationally? Now, with the internet and social media, it’s easier than ever to create an international business. Below are 4 simple steps to follow:
- Define your Vision and Define your Target Market – Develop a clear vision of what you want to accomplish. If you have a fuzzy vision, you will get fuzzy results. For example, you can ask yourself: What are my ultimate career goals? What do I stand for? What is the purpose of my business? How can I best serve others? You may also want to write down your core values and beliefs. These values and beliefs will guide every action that you take. Incorporate your values into your vision.
When defining your target market, you can ask yourself: Who is my ideal client or customer? What is their demographic? What topics are they interested in? What books or Authors do they like?
Those are just a few of the questions to think about. You want to be very specific when it comes to your vision and target market.
- Use Social Media to Connect with your Target Market – There are over 200 million Twitter users and over 500 million Facebook users, so no matter who your target market is, they are using social media. You can use social media to connect with “targeted” people from all over the world.
Here are some examples – If you are a weight loss coach, then you probably want to connect with people who want to lose weight. If you are an Author, then you probably want to connect with people who are interested in the topic of your book. If you want more listeners for your radio show, then you want to connect with people who are interested in the topic of your show. If you have a coffee business, then you want to connect with people who love drinking coffee. So, no matter who your Target Market is, you can use social media to connect with them.
With Twitter and Facebook, you can connect with people in your Target Market who are located all over the world. There are Twitter automation tools you can use to target people based on the following: their occupation, topics they tweet about, where they live, the language they speak, and more. You can use these tools to automate the process, so it’s quick and easy for you. With Facebook, you can’t automate the process, but it can still be done very easily.
- Create a Genuine Connection with your Target Market – Once you’ve connected with your target market, you want to provide them with a lot of value. You could provide them with helpful tips and guidance concerning your niche. You could provide them with links to inspirational stories. Inspire them, motivate them – show them that you care. Go to their profile pages, and comment on their posts. Share their posts with your followers. Show them that you support them. Be genuine. Be your authentic self. When you provide people with value, and you show them that you care, they will want to work with you – they will want your services.
A big mistake that a lot of people make with social media is that they promote, promote, promote, all the time. This is the opposite of what you should do. Think about it – do you like to be solicited to all day long? Probably not. People love to buy things, but they don’t like to be solicited to.

- Have a Business Plan – If you don’t have a plan, you will experience “information overload”. In today’s world, there’s so much technology and so many options available. Many people become overwhelmed with all of the options and programs out there, and they don’t even know where to begin. If you don’t have a plan, you’ll wind up spending hours and hours on the internet & on your social media sites, but you won’t get anything accomplished. You need a results-oriented action plan, a strategy, to achieve the results you want.
