Why Setting Goals is Fun
By Keith Cook
Do you know a loved one or close friend that appears to be in a cycle of DESTRUCTION? Are they broke at the same time every year or in the same dead end relationship every summer? Is your friend someone that needs help buying an outfit or paying their way into the club? Obviously, if someone is in the same financial situation, in the same dead end relationship each year, they are not moving toward a goal. So why is setting goals fun? Setting goals accelerates the creation of the future in advance!
In other words, when you set a goal, you have set forth forces in nature and the universe that work together to bring about your dominate desires. But in order for you to become a goal accomplishing machine, you must start with practicing some basic fundamentals everyday. What are fundamentals? Fundamentals make up a process that has been proven to provide a desired result. As you practice these fundamentals daily, they become permanent. Repetition is the mother of skill.
Here’s an example of a fundamental. I recall my coach advising me to write, read and meditate daily. Writing provided me with a visual reminder of my goals and accomplishments. Reading and listening to CD’s excited me by way of stimulating ideas and new techniques to unlocking my potential. And lastly, meditating provided me with a relaxed state in which to unwind and rejuvenate. Meditation strengthens my ability to focus and gain clarity. This daily routine or fundamentals, enabled me to create momentum and attract my wants and desires with accuracy and ease.
It should come as no surprise when you focus your thoughts on what matters to you most, you shall see your environment in a different light. As you practice having your life as you desire, you will attract people, places and events that will bring you closer to your goal. Everything around you will become an opportunity to create powerful change. Things will just fall in place as if the steps have been ordered.
