Imagination and Visualization

By Keith Cook

Have we become conditioned to believe only what we see outside of us and ignore our inner self? Have we allowed the “inner me” to become the enemy? People wish for things all the time. Wishes are desires with no energy. So a wish will not cause the law of attraction to work. Not unless you will yourself to act until you get your wish. The will is holding the mental image or feeling the emotions of having what you want and acting as if you have it. That brings intent into the equation and intent is the catalyst that brings the law into life.

My intentions are to bring you to the awareness of your thoughts and the images that habitaully occupy your mind. Your mind sees your thoughts as images not in words. When you think of eating a bowl of ice cream you immediately see a picture. Someone saw an image of the clothing you are wearing. Someone invisioned the car you are driving, the oven you use and the bed you sleep on. “All the forms that a person fashions with his or her hands must first emerge from thought.” Bob Proctor As you see the picture in your mind and feel it, you bring yourself to a place of believing you have what you want now. So if you are constantly thinking, envisioning, and emotionally envolved or feeling the images that form your thoughts, you are attracting those images in your life.

One techniques you can use to bombarde your mind with new thoughts and images (in order to help with visualization) is the use of affirmations. Jack Canfield mentions in his Success Principles that an affirmation is a statement about a goal in it’s completed state. “I am feeling light and alive at my ideal weight of 175.” “I am enjoying driving on the Amafi Coast in my new CL65 AMG Black Series.” You can envision having a trim and fit body, several large bank accounts, regular trips to exotic lands or enjoying a ten day getaway on Turtle Island. Stand in front of a mirror and give yourself a self talk by repeating affirmations. This can tremendously increase your self esteem, create focus and discipline and provide and maintain momentum when things get tough. Focus on the end result and experiencing the feeling of having what you want. “Picture it in your mind and see it as done. Your feelings are receiving it as done. Your mind and your entire state of being are seeing it as already happened.” Rhonda Byrne

This is a process you should enjoy and have fun with. Imagine, pretend, make believe and act as if. Do whatever you have to do to create the feeling of having what you want. Make it a point to set aside time to meditate everyday on your goals. 3 to 10 mintues to start and then build on that. Envision yourself enjoying what it is you desire. What feelings, noises, sensations and smells are associated with your vision. Take time to complete you vision and be detailed about it. Vague ideas produce vague results. So make your visions as expansive and colorful as you choose.
