What if success were simply a four part process? (Part 2 of 5)
By Guest Blogger, Corey Jahnke
In the introduction to my four part success formula I discussed how difficult it truly is to get your mind wrapped around that concept that you really are never stuck in life, but success has something to do with keeping it simple. I knew that if I was ever going to make the journey from moldy piece of cheese to having a remarkable life I had to make the process as elementary as possible. I choose to focus on four things. In this post let’s discuss the first component:
Who should I get around?
Great business philosopher Jim Rohn said it this way: Everyone should ask themselves~Who am I around? What do they have me Thinking? Believing? Reading? Who do they have me becoming? And then, ask yourself the big biggee: Is that okay? If so, great ask yourself how can I get around them more often? If the answer is no that’s not okay, you should figure out who you know or could meet that will get you becoming who you want to become.
What should I study?
Personal development is the key to success in every endeavor. Always remember that the best people in any profession or industry are life long learners. These are people who have a reading or study goal for every single day. The people who choose to give themselves this advantage in life also choose to set themselves in the top 10% of their profession. What do I have to tolerate?
Author Darren Hardy states in “The Compound Effect” that you get from life what you tolerate! If you tolerate becoming broke, overweight, or unfulfilled that is exactly what you will receive from life. But, if you make the decision to only tolerate the good things from life that you truly deserve, that is what your future will mirror. Who do I have to become?
The short version is that most people make the mistake of thinking “What do I have to do to make things workout the way that I want them to?”. That is simply the wrong approach! Jim Rohn said it this way: ”You should set your goal to become a millionaire. Not for the money. You can always get money. But set the goal for what it would make of you to reach that goal.”
Focus on developing yourself into the person who deserves the success that you so desperately desire and the world truly will become your oyster. I want that for you!
In the next post we will discuss how to present yourself in a way that will get opportunity to break down your door!!
