You Don’t Have To See To Have Vision
By Guest Blogger, Lisa Randolph
What do Andrea Bocelli, Jim Stovall, Stevie Wonder, and my friend Larry have in common? They are all great visionaries. They have what it takes to look beyond life’s challenges and obstacles to become the thing they aspire to be. They aren’t victims, they are over-comers. They aren’t complainers, they are hard workers. They aren’t reactive, they are proactive. They are passionate about life, their professions, and their influence on others. They all share one other thing…they’re blind.
Life is not about “What you see is what you get” it’s about “What you believe is what you get.” These amazing individuals have proven that. They believe in themselves, and have faith that if they consistently show up everyday to pursue their visions, they will see success. Their eyes are in their heart, and it’s from this place that they can see what they do has a great impact on others.
We all need to learn to see with our hearts, and not our eyes. Sometimes we need to look beyond the immediate challenge, or situation, in front of us and realize if God gives us VISION the provision will be there as well. We need to look in the mirror, and stop blaming outside circumstances for our lack of success in our businesses and relationships. We need to get busy, and show up everyday with an action-plan to pursue the visions we have for ourselves.
Maybe in order to unleash our visions, and overcome our fear of success, we should all close our eyes and pretend to be blind on a daily basis. Maybe this will allow us to SEE from a true place of faith. As the sayings go “Faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen” and “You have to believe it before you see it.” Even Ray Charles could see this, can you?

I love this post by Lisa Randolph and agree with her. Your dream needs to stay foremost in your mind and heart. The dream originated in your heart so you have to trust that God will light the path to achieve it. I’m an entrepreneur so I know what it is like to persist to see the fruition of my dream. If I only relied on my eyes, I would not have succeeded.
