Never Be The Rate Limiting Factor

By Guest Blogger, Corey Jahnke

Thanks to the government’s HARP loan program I was able to qualify for a mortgage refinance that will ultimately save my family and I over $250,000 and allow me to retire many years earlier than I had previously expected.

I am working with Stacie at the local credit union and Stacie very efficiently sends me emails when she needs a document of some kind or another. Whenever I receive her email requests I make sure that she receives whatever she asked for that very day if at all possible, or first thing the next morning at the very latest.

Why? Because that is how I do EVERYTHING!
Why? Because I made a vow a very long time ago that I would NEVER be the rate limiting factor in any transaction. What I find tragic is that Stacie is always surprised by the rate at which her documents are delivered, and that she always gets from me exactly what she asked for. Shouldn’t that be the norm? Guess what~It’s not!

Where I live, it is often painful to try to get an estimate from a service professional. Even more painful~To get them to show up to do the work when they said they would. Why would they take chances with their business? They see their excuses as reasons for failure. Busy, overwhelmed, waiting on a sub-contractor, blah, blah, blah

Herein lies OUR OPPORTUNITY!!! We can come in like a freight train, stand out, and totally stand apart from the competition no matter who we are dealing with.

There are enough hurdles and obstacles in any business deal that even when we don’t “hold up the process” we can usually guarantee that someone else will. Whose actions can WE control? Ours and no one else’s!!

Make a decision today to always be a follow-up and follow-through person! Never give yourself permission to delay any deal (business or otherwise) and you will move to the front of the line!

Do you think Stacie takes my calls whenever I inquire about a product or service the credit union offers? Do you think customers and vendors take my calls when I am looking to create new business with and for them? Would you?

Always remember that your reputation is your best form of advertising. Do everything you do quickly and well! Deliver on time and on target and you will become well known as the go to person in any interaction! Cultivate THAT reputation and you’ll be headed to the bank to drop off a different kind of paper. The kind that increases your net worth!
